We just got back from Tokyo. Three days at Lifestyle Week TOKYO Summer 2026, held from June 24–26 at Tokyo Big Sight. And we came away with one clear takeaway:Japanese buyers care about size and finish more than we expected.And they welcome our customs silicone design service.

What we put on the table

We focused on our silicone kitchenware line – the same products that work well for our European and US customers:

These are sturdy, functional, and built for daily use. They perform well in the oven, microwave, and dishwasher. And our surface finish and edge trimming – which we’ve talked about before – were a hit with visitors who handled the samples.

What surprised us

Honestly? Our products were a bit too big for the Japanese market.

We noticed that Japanese buyers kept picking up our spatulas and spoons, examining them closely, then asking if we had smaller versions. The style we brought over is more Western – larger heads, longer handles, bolder colors. Japanese kitchens tend to be smaller, and the local preference leans toward compact, delicate, and minimal designs.

That said, the quality still got attention. Buyers could tell the difference — they commented on the smooth edges, the consistent thickness, and the lack of silicone smell. Many of them were looking for reliable custom silicone design support to match local market preferences. Several asked if we could adapt our designs to smaller sizes and offer more muted colors. And yes, we can — that’s the benefit of having our own mold shop and in‑house R&D. We handle full‑cycle custom silicone design, from concept sketch, prototype iteration to final mold development and mass production, to turn buyers’ unique ideas into market‑ready silicone goods.

With custom silicone design, 3D renderings and free prototypes available, many customers have shown interest in potential future cooperation.

What we heard from buyers

A few comments that stood out:

“This is the best surface finish we’ve seen from a Chinese supplier.” – A Japanese kitchenware distributor who spent a good 10 minutes checking our baking mat edges.

“Can you make these 20% smaller? And maybe in beige or gray?” – This came up repeatedly. We told them we do custom molding and Pantone matching. That opened up further conversations.

“Do you have Japanese-speaking sales support?” – Not yet, but we’re working on it. We handled inquiries in English, and most buyers were patient and accommodating.
